History

The first incarnation of the Primarina who would become Uncertainty. Born on the human colony world, Ordifica, they lived among humans. She was familiar with a then-local faction known as the Remote. As a teenager they worked as a vehicle mechanic for a large sea farm. Evacuated to Anathema during the fall of Ordifica, they were fitted with Remote devices and integrated into the Remote culture -- receiving constant signal bombardment from the Remote's media -- and over the years were eventually Remembered* several times into their future incarnations.

* The Remote are sterile, reproducing using "Remembrance Tanks", which create a "clone" of the original person using some of their biomass and the memories of the people who knew them. This means there are multiple creatures based on the original primarina, sometimes at the same time, each a degraded version of the previous.

Cousin Uncertainty of Faction Paradox

Fourth incarnation: After many years and several Remembrance cycles on Anathema, her fourth incarnation left Anathema to explore the universe. Despite leaving Anathema's media as they left the range of its broadcasts, they never fully severed ties with their culture, and still consume the media of any Remote colonies they visit. They eventually joined Faction Paradox as a Little Sibling, taking on the name "Uncertainty" and learning to experiment with the Faction's alter-time states.

When Uncertainty was still only a "Little Sibling" of Faction Paradox, she became obsessed with studying, comparing and cross-influencing alternate timelines. One of her first experiments lead to a naval battle between three alternate versions of the same Captain of the Royal Navy on Earth.

As a "Cousin" of Faction Paradox, Uncertainty has a weapon -- two twin scimitars, specifically -- bonded to their shadow, which can move independently of their body. She also has a full suit of bone armor constructed from the skeletal remains of a swan-necked seal (an extinct ancestor of the modern monk seal) though they prefer to wear only the skull, and vertebrae as hair ties.

She keeps an album of selfies taken at famously disasterous historical events.
